Description

Patchouli is extracted from dry, dark green leaves of a scrub native to Malaysia and India using steam distillation. The leaves are dark green in colour and have an strong, spicy aroma. The white and red-tinged blossoms exude an intensive aroma. Since ancient times, the leaves have been used to scent linens and protect against insects. In the 70s, patchouli came to be known as a hippie fragrance. In reality, however, it was already in use before then in perfume compositions such as Chanel No. 5. The scent is stimulating and harmonising and has toning properties.

Application:

Skin:

Mix with plant oils (sesame, almond, jojoba, etc.) and use as a massage oil.
Ideal for use in cosmetics for dry, dull and acne-prone skin.
Can be used for cellulite care or stretch marks thanks to its astringent properties. Add a few drops to moisturising creams or plant oils and use the mixture to perform a gentle massage on the affected areas.

Aromatherapy:

For room scenting and as a natural insect repellent.
