Put Your Best Foot Forward This Summer

To be honest, taking care of our feet is often neglected during winter. This goes without saying, since they are often wrapped up in warm socks and hidden in thick winter boots, i.e. out of sight, out of mind. Once the temperatures start to increase, we start grasping towards lighter footgear. So, lets get out feet ready in time for comfy flip-flops and cute sandals.

Our Tips:

Beginning by soaking the feet in a relaxing foot bath. It is best to use lukewarm water infused with nourishing oils or blossom extracts. Unwind and soak the feet for 20 minutes.

On to tackling callused skin. Callused skin is often a result of particularly high pressure placed upon a certain area of the foot. The "hardened" skin should offer protection in this region, so to speak. Callused skin is best removed with a pumice stone, however, it is important to exercise caution: A foot bath softens the skin which can be overlooked and lead to injury if too much pressure is used.

Once the callused skin is a thing of the past, it's time to exfoliate. This ensures that any remaining dead skin cells are removed for a smoother feel. If you are short on a foot peel, simply rub your feet with coarse salt.

Now, moving on to the nails. Shape and groom the nails with a nail file and/or nail scissors. Remove excess cuticles or use a cuticle pusher to push them back over the nailed.

Now for the fun part: nail polish! Skip this step if you prefer a natural look. However, if you do opt for a nail vanish, be sure to seal it with a top coat to prolong wear.

Finally, moisturise the feet with your favourite moisturising cream and you're set!
